Anise is a fragrant herb known for its licorice-like flavor, commonly used in culinary applications like baking, teas, and liqueurs such as ouzo and pastis. Medicinally, it’s used to aid digestion and soothe coughs. To grow, sow seeds in well-drained soil and full sun after the last frost. Anise prefers warm climates and regular watering. Harvest seeds when flower heads turn brown for use in cooking, or use fresh leaves in salads and drinks.
