Roman chamomile is a low-growing, perennial herb known for its delicate, feathery foliage and daisy-like white flowers with a sweet, apple-like fragrance. It spreads as a ground cover, reaching 6-12 inches tall, and thrives in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil. Traditionally used for teas and herbal remedies, it also attracts pollinators while repelling pests.
Unpack immediately and water if dry. Let it rest in indirect light for a day before transplanting. Plant in sandy, well-drained soil, spacing 8-12 inches apart. Water moderately—too much moisture can cause root rot. Trim regularly to encourage bushy growth and prevent legginess. Drought-tolerant once established, Roman chamomile requires minimal maintenance and thrives in temperate climates.
