Sugukina turnip, a traditional Japanese variety from Kyoto, is small, round, and known for its tender, slightly spicy flavor. It’s commonly used for pickling in Kyoto cuisine. The turnip has smooth white skin and crisp flesh, thriving in cool climates.
Plant seeds in well-drained, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0-7.0. Sow directly ¼ inch deep, spacing 4 inches apart. Keep soil consistently moist and provide full sun. Harvest in 40-50 days when roots reach 2-3 inches. Store in a cool place, and enjoy fresh or pickled for authentic flavor.
Sample packet 10-25 seeds $0.50
Large packet 0.500 grams $1.75
