Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) is a hardy, perennial herb known for its silvery-green, feathery foliage and strong aromatic scent. It thrives in dry, well-drained soil and full sun, making it ideal for xeriscaping and herb gardens. Traditionally used for medicinal and culinary purposes, wormwood is also a natural pest repellent. The plant grows up to 3 feet tall and requires minimal maintenance. Its drought tolerance and deer resistance make it a great addition to low-water landscapes while attracting beneficial insects like pollinators.
Upon arrival, unpack wormwood plants immediately and water if dry. Place them in indirect light for a day to recover. Gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions. Plant in well-drained soil with full sun. Water sparingly—overwatering can cause root rot. Trim any damaged leaves for healthy growth.
